Step Code for New Homes
The BC Energy Step Code is an optional compliance path in the BC Building Code. Beginning in early 2023, all new buildings constructed in BC will be required to be 20 percent more energy efficient (Step 3) than those built to the requirements of the 2018 BCBC.
